Windows xp force 1680x1050




















I always use NVidia generic drivers rather than those provided by the video card manufacturers. They seem to be more stable even if they don't enable all the manufacturer's bells and whistles. I'd assume Intel has drivers for the G chipset on their website. All rights reserved. So here's my question - can I force Windows to go to a specific resolution when either a a monitor is not attached, or b the probed modes don't match the native mode?

My suspicion with the KVM is option b - the KVM doesn't actually tell the computer that x is a valid mode for the monitor when the monitor is not active on that channel. I have installed the latest ATI drivers, and have installed my display's drivers, but still the max resolution I can select in either the control panel or the ATI control panel is x Hours of Googling have yielded no answers, so I was hoping someone might have some ideas for me.
